DISCLAIMER: I absolutely condemn and despise the regimes in Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua, Syria, Iran, etc. I hope that the people in these places can manage to overthrow their tyrants someday.

I’m from Puerto Rico, a country that’s originally a colony pertaining to the Spanish empire, then switched over to the USA after they won a war against Spain, and that is still held hostage by them to this day. It really, really bugs me that many are advocating for American intervention in such countries when it’s literally never ended well for the regular citizens there. We all know they do it purely for their own interests. I know there’s the issue of indoctrination and all, but it’s really weird that TOO many people to this day still see the USA as this “superhero” when they’ve tried to coup/start proxy wars in other countries. Sure, FUCK Maduro, Ortega, Assad, etc. I hope these fuckers all serve their well due sentences, but the US and its allies ain’t saints either bruh. I’m sick of hearing in both Hispanic and Anglophone spheres about how folks like Venezuelans can only rely on US-NATO when these motherfuckers don’t even care!!! Like first off, what have they ever done for these people? These 50 star tyrants are literally just as bad😭

As an example out of countless ones, the US along with the PR govt, spent many years persecuting, arresting and killing ppl in my country who were ever slightly suspected of being independence supporters or pertaining to any ideology that managed to challenge the status quo. Even innocent ppl who had nothing to do were collectively punished, just for their ethnicity. They straight up OUTLAWED any display or possession of our fucking flag, which was punishable up to 10 years of prison or a $10,000 fine. That law lasted for 9 years before it was deemed unconstitutional, much to their convenience🙄 They’ve also ran massive campaigns to sterilize our women for “overpopulation”, starved most of us for over 40 years before industrializing our economy in the 50s/60s, bombed 2 of our mountain towns, massacred almost 20 in Ponce, took all our agricultural lands and ruined them, forced us to labor for them in those crop fields for a miserable amount of money that could barely even feed us, still funds mediocre corrupt politicians to run our island and keep lying to us, makes us almost completely depend on consumption instead of balancing it with national homemade production, incentivizes our crooked ass govt to give them tax exemptions so they could displace tf out of us, destroys our natural and indigenous resources, don’t even let us vote for their president, etc. I could go on forever on the crimes against humanity that they’ve committed (and keep doing) towards my people. It’s heart shattering to see the world still following this fallacious narrative, including many other Puerto Ricans who’ve also drank the kool aid cuz they think the US is the “best we’ll ever have” or else we’ll end up “like all those weirdos”. Cuz, btw, these imperial bastards have held over our heads that they “saved” us from that other shitty colonizer. This is so bullshit for many obvious reasons that I’m not even gonna further delve into 💀💀💀

Much heart and strength to all my fellow occupied peoples in this world. It’s so unbelievably hard and exhausting how we may likely never see the liberation of our motherlands in our lifetimes💔
