What's this I hear about a Knight Parade?

I have lived here since 2009 and have never attended Gasparilla. I always hear about it but usually was under the weather or had other things going on (I'm a transplant recipient, got a kidney and a pancreas a few years ago). Now that I am recovered and back to doing normal things I was disappointed to hear that Gasparilla is over but there is still a Knight Parade in 2 weeks? Is this correct and if so anyone want to take a first timer with them? I'm a 32f in Valrico and would love to go if there is in fact an upcoming Knight Parade.
