Found a NOS factory sealed Pokemon Pikachu 2 GS on the 'bay, and decided to splurge on it for my birthday last week! It was not cheap to get this US version still factory sealed, but I had the original yellow version as a kid back in the 90's, and had never known at that time that they had released a color version a couple years later. Better late than never, right?

There are also Japanese versions that can be had for a much better deal, and in several different limited edition shell colors as well.

I really wanted the US version though, and I'm one of those weirdos that doesn't really like to buy my electronics used second hand, so I tend to always go for factory sealed in box, which is always a much pricier option.

I average a minimum of 10k steps during a short work shift, and considerably more during longer shifts, so I figured that I can have this lil guy on my belt during work and rack up the watts and friendship quite easily. It's extremely low maintenance, Pikachu essentially cares for himself on this color version, you just give him watts, spend them on the mini game to potentially earn more quickly, and can send them to other GS's or also to pokemon gold, silver, or crystal on a game boy color as well via the infrared port. It has an alarm function and the ability to compose your very own melody for the alarm as well, which is pretty dang cool! The color LCD is really cool, and quite an interesting departure from the typical monochrome Vpet displays of that time.
