What's the best winter coat, and why is it the peacoat?
Post Body

This is one part silly, one part serious.

I bought a nice wool peacoat years ago, and I still adore this thing.. I found it on pure luck at my local Dillard's, it was the only tall size and it fit me well, so I snagged it.

Almost a decade later I realize how versatile it is with the collar and the buttons so you can adjust it to meet the conditions, and it really just shines through as a garment with a lot of thought out into it.

The serious part is though, is there something else that beats out the peacoat? Like something that can match it's style and versatility, but maybe something I wouldn't worry as much about roughing up when I'm in more varied conditions? I do a lot of walking to get around and if it's a longer distance I hate to wear my nice peacoat and sweat it all up.
