Martin had no clue what our lunch actually entailed but for me I knew it was Jeff's way of saying he's coming after me without saying he's coming after me. I respected that, but it also meant I had to be on my toes. When we got back from lunch I was able to help Martin finish in the hosting room and got back to my desk. As I was about to check my work email Jeff walks in
Jeff: Hey, can you run over to our other branch at 5th and Conrow?
Me: Sure, what did they need help with?
Jeff: They got flooded with laptops and just need help getting caught up
Me: Ok, I'll stop off at the Caseys and grab a Dew then I'll head over
Jeff: Sure. And in the morning, just report over there.
So when I got to the new location there was a completely different atmosphere, the secretary was warm and friendly. The front door had a HID RFID badge reader to gain access to the offices. The secretary gave me a temp badge that gave me access to the front door and to the storage room. A manager, Frank, gave me the walk through of the storage room, break room and his office in case I needed anything. He also pointed out the Kum-N-Go down the street in case I needed anything, then dropped me off at the storage room. Their storage room was not much more than stacks and stacks of boxes with a conference room table in the middle, a polycom phone in the middle and a true solder station with a hot air rework gun. I was so happy to see an actual proper rework station I could have screamed. I looked through some of the open boxes and they had ton's of laptops. There was 1 box that had various RAM, hard drives and power supplies.
Why the fsck would Jen need my soldering iron if they had this rework station here?? I sat down, checked my email on my phone...nothing. I pulled out my laptop, got ready to start documenting my work when I heard my phone ding.

Go ahead and stop for now. If we need to we can revisit it later.
Finally! I put away my laptop and begin working. I was left alone completely and was able to brush through 2 boxes pretty quickly and would have been done sooner except for a loose ribbon cable for a display on a laptop. It was quitting time, I pack everything up and leave for the night. Next morning I stop and grab a Dew and head into the other office. I arrive 15 minutes early and to my surprise I find the secretary already there, but my badge doesn't work. Hmm, maybe it's old so I ask her for a different one and it doesn't work either. She then tells me she forgot that they don't "turn on" until 7:30. I sit in the waiting area and break out my laptop, surprisingly my personal company email has no new emails.
7:30am rolled around and I was finally able to enter the building and I had made a mental note to not show up early if I ever come back to this office again. I get to the storage room and begin working. About 2 hours into working the door opens and I see Martin walk through
Me: Hey. What are you doing over here?
Martin: Jeff wants me to show these guys how things are done.
Me: huh?
Martin: Jeff wants me to train the guys over in this office on how to run a hosting business
Me: Did he say that? That doesn't sound like something he'd say
Martin: Oh, he tried to be "PC" and say I was coming over here to learn how this office does things. But I know that he really wants me to show them how to get up to speed
Me: Really now?
Martin: Anyway, I can't stay and chat. I just wanted to say 'sup
Me: Ok. Have fun
That guy is such a douche-canoe
I ran out of RAM and hard drives to fix laptops with and ended up with 8 more laptops than parts. I fire off an email to Jeff letting him know that I was out of spares and that I was heading back to my office. When I got there Steph was busy texting on her phone but when she saw me she smiled
Steph: I'm glad you're here, you should go back and talk to Jeff. Everything's busted
Me: Everything?
Steph: Yup.
Shit! I run to the Restricted room and I don't see any issues, so then I run to the actual server room and see Jeff knelt down with bundles of CAT6 cable
Me: What happened?!
Jeff: Martin said the cabling was wrong and he asked if he could do some cable management
Me: Is that why he's training over at the other location
Jeff: I just couldn't deal with him right now. Can you get this back up?
Me: Sure. You can go back to your office, I'll be done in a few minutes
