"Skype won't open."
Post Body

So I work in a call center for my college. Most of our calls are either from younger undergrads who need a password reset because they already forgot their first password, or older users who aren't sure if they're holding a mouse or a keyboard or an iPad. Today I finally had a call worth posting here.

User: I can't open skype. I click on the button and nothing happens.

So maybe shes clicking the wrong shortcut?

wehnerdy: Can you hold ctrl alt delete real quick?

User: Sure, a window came up and it says skype is running.

wehnerdy: Go ahead and click on where it says skype then click on the end task button.

Next go ahead and open skype again.

At this point I hear skype open and I'm thinking it should be all set.

User: Nothing happened.

wehnerdy: I heard it open though, that noise the computer just made was skype opening..

User: Well nothing happened. I still can't see skype.

At this point I remembered that when I'm at home with my multiple monitors applications will open up on whichever monitor they were open on last time. This particular user was about 98 and I wasn't expecting them to have multiple monitors when they couldn't figure out where skype was. It was all I could think of though so I went with it.

wehnerdy: Do you have two monitors on your computer?

User: Yeah.

wehnerdy: Are they both on?

User: Yeah. Well let me check. Should they both be on? I only want to use the one.

wehnerdy: Well skype is on your other monitor that's why you can't see it.

User: OH! Yay, you found it! Thanks so much!
