Looks like I'm batting a thousand today. Client calls today to have account re-enabled an password reset for an AS400 App and the madness ensues.
herpaderp: I need my application account re-enabled and my password reset. 1/2 my team doesn't have accounts for this application so they share my account and i have to call you guys every other day to have my password reset and my account re-enabled
FACEPALM
Me: Ok, I've gone ahead and done that for you, however, I need to let you know that sharing your account credentials is a violation of security policy.
herpaderp: I'm not too sure how it is a violation as we are not able to change anything, only look at application and we have been told that everyone cannot have a password because there are not enough licenses and everyone in my department can't have accounts.
Later, as only 6 sigma can, the drop comes in....
"I feel like I was chastiesed for something that is out of my control and feel there is a certain way to speak to people. At least let the person explain the reasoning of the situation. I was advised in the past by IT that there was not enough licenses for everyone to have application and our department has to have application for us to view images. So there was no other solution... whether that is true or not, I am not sure as I do not work for IT. We cannot make changes to the system at all or even write any kind of notes or anything in there so did not feel I was at risk or violating anything. I do apologize this has become such an issue and have already advised the supervisor and manager that they need to update the reps oscars to get them application per IT. Thank you for taking the time to listen."
This single ranting paragraph now may cost me $200 from my bonus.
