It’s been seven years since I’ve worked phones so I’m out of the game for a while and things are different. This new trend really pisses me off, though. Usually you call into a company and get put on hold. More callers than people to answer so that makes sense. Recently, though, companies (credit cards that want me to reopen my account) call me and when I answer a bot immediately puts me on hold until a representative can get to me. Does anyone work for a company that does this? I’m assuming a computer auto dials customers and puts them in a queue until a CSR is open. Nowadays I just immediately hang up because no way in hell I’m going to pick up and not even talk to anyone.
