So I work for an international clothing brand and our systems were down all day due to our overnight upgrades taking waaaaaay longer than they should have. We couldn’t place orders, cancel, exchange, or even look up half of the customers to help them so you can imagine how my day was going.
About halfway through the day, the phone rolls in with good old Karen.
Me: thank you for calling, this is Nessadawn123 how can I he...
Karen: Yeah. I’ve been on hold for FORTY FIVE minutes and I just need HELP!!
(She had been on hold for 8 mins but whatever)
Me: I’m so sorry to hear that, what’s going on?
Karen: well I placed an order and I got it and I hated it so I shipped it back and YOU PEOPLE haven’t credited my account and I am NOT paying for this bill and now the credit card company is charging me late fees!! You are RUINING my credit!! I just want you to know that I am CALLING THE FTC!!
Me: Okay, Karen, I’m so sorry to hear this. I do see your charge of $42.48, and I do see we received it back in the warehouse. Our policy states it can be up to 30 days for the refund to process...
Karen: WHAT?? 30 DAYS!! That’s IT! I am calling the FTC!!
Me: I’m so sorry, there isn’t anything else I can do to help you. I can get you over to a supervisor if you would like but unfortunately I can’t help you further.
Karen: Yeah you BETTER get me over to a supervisor!! I’m a supervisor too and I would NEVER stand for this!!
Me: okay well I will place you in a brief hold and get you over there.
Karen: Oh, put me on hold AGAIN, like I don’t have anything better to do today. FINE, just do it, this is such BULLSHIT.
Ugh. What a long day.
