I was working at a Telemarketing center. We sold phone services for a baby bell. It was a Saturday and the center was hopping. And by hopping, I mean everybody was hopping out of their chairs to mark another sale on the board.

Everybody but me that is. I was getting nothing but voicemail/answering machines. My supervisor got on my case because I was getting no sales. I told him "get me a live person and I will get you a sale."

he did not believe me when I told him I was getting nothing but voicemail. I told him to monitor me. He did for 20 minutes. all he heard was me getting voicemail.

I was there 10 hours. over 670 calls. never talked to customer. however the center had the highest number of sales ever in its history that day. I was filtering out all the voice-mails so everybody else could get sales. My supervisor bought me lunch on Monday.
