Regarding Tales of Destiny Gameplay

I have recently begun playing Tales of Destiny and noticed that when you push the "attack" button during combat your character will dash forward, slash, and then dash back unless interrupted by damage.
I've looked in the settings but can't seem to find a way to turn that feature off. Have I overlooked something?
It's not going to ruin the game for me if it can't be changed though.
