I recently saw a huge influx of Safe Life Defense FRAS videos. Would you all consider running the slick vest under street clothes with a battle belt a decent civilian/SHTF setup? I was thinking minimalist and retro-modern (as streamlined as old school web gear but still protective and versatile as modern stuff) I basically though it would consist of about 6-7 AR mags, med pouch, a water bottle pouch, a pistol holster, 2 pistol mags, a mag dump pouch, and maybe a small GP pouch.
Instead of having all that weight on my shoulders, back, and chest, I'd drop it to my hips and legs, maybe add drop-leg mag pouches and add suspender straps. Everything else really would go in a backpack or in my truck so I wouldn't really need to carry much in the way of radios, food, extra ammo, etc.
Just wanted a few opinions on this idea.
