Here's my size for context, 6'6" tall, I'm a fit, lean 285 lbs, barrel chested, wide back & shoulders, and I can easily go up to 300 in the winter months. I wear a size 2 xlt or 3xlt shirt depending on who made it.
I'm looking for recommendations for my first owned body armor setup for my prepared civilian kit. I've never served in the military, though was a firefighter/ medic & USAR for 15 years I have worn agency issued body armor in active shooter situations, during riots and times of civil unrest, and sometimes on USAR deployments abroad. The agency/ department stuff was always lowest bidder and never fit me well.
I'm attracted to the Eagle Industries Maritime CIRAS as it seems to have the most amount of upper body coverage, considering I'm so large. I feel like the Crye JPC or similar would be too small.
I want to configure my setup like this: 8x AR mags in double pouches across the flap, admin on chest, ifak on right flank, radio on R cumberbund in front of ifak, L side slick for pistol draw (lefty shooter), hydration bladder on back.
