I have until June/July 2025 to get my 1.5 mile time from a 10:57 to a 9:30, so approximately 6-7 months. I am applying to a police agency after the Army, so while I need endurance, I don't need the amount found in TB III Green Protocol. I have to contend with normal military obligations (gunnery, certifications, etc), plus I am on rotation, so there's the added fuckery that comes with that.
I also have the added benefit of being able to plan my section's PT. While I am not going to adapt PT solely to my benefit, I can use it in conjunction with my personal training schedule. Mondays are run days, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are gym time as a section, Thursdays are "combat PT" (PT done in OCPs, like rucks), and Fridays are easy run days. This is a BN directive, but I have the freedom to plan how I follow this directive.
How would you build a TB program to achieve this 1.5 mile goal? How would you alternate Green and Black protocols, if at all? What workouts would you select for HIC? We have no PT on Saturdays, but I am fine working out on my own that day.
