I've had this tablet for a few days now, and I think I've done enough on it, including writing this very review, that I can confidently talk about it. I'll post the specs links from amazon so you can have a look, and then I'll talk about my experiences.
SCREEN - From my own personal experience, its fantastic. Comparing watching videos on it to my phone or laptop which I normally use, its beyond compare. Very clear, bright, crisp. It is very good. I think I read somewhere that it's the same resolution as the nexus 7, but as this is 8 inch, the PPI is slightly smaller. But still, for £100, simply stunning. Great for games, books, YouTube, haven't tried movies yet but its bound to be good, its very nice screen.
SIZE - I've never had a tablet before, so its new to me. The 8 inch screen is just right IMO for reading, easy to hold in both hands for games. I can't really compare it, but apparently this is supposed to be very light, it probably is. Being 8 inches, for me its a bit hard to hold one handed but its manageable most of the time, depends how you hold it, I'm guessing its fine for most though
BATTERY - Something I have been let down on a little is the battery life. I can't really time it, but it lasts probably 5 hours if you let it run flat, which I haven't which is why it's hard to guess. I have been using it most of the time, mostly doing games, watching videos, probably forgetting to close tabs and multitasking, so that may have an impact, but I do wish that it would last slightly longer. Some games do run it down quite quickly, but with most freemium play and wait games, its not too bad.
SOUND - I don't and won't use the front speakers because I use esrphones, so I can't really talk about how they are. But they are dual front facing, loud, probably quite good as with most things, but through earphones (not sure if it varies between devices like speakers) its very good.
READING - Not sure if its important, so this will be quick, but reading is very nice, small text like on webpages and stuff is good, but on kindle its also very nice, crisp, standard sizes are easy to read, extra small you may have to zoom in a bit, but its very pleasant to read on, mostly due to the high resolution and very bright screen.
GAMING - On android (which I'm very pleased with not using it before) there are many, many games and apps to download. They open up very quickly, run smooth apart from some lag in one game, which I assume is game based, its been very good. But as I say, drains the battery quite a bit and also has a big issue which I will talk about now.
MISC - One issue I've noticed, which I don't know what it is, but on the device when doing some prolonged/hardcore (its android mobile games idk what to call it, gaming nonetheless) the top left of the back of the device, the camera and earphone port side, it does get very toasty indeed. And it only seems to be coming from that corner, so I don't know what's there but it certainly doesn't like games, and certainly heats up. Worse still, it also gets hot on the front right corner of the screen, its on both sides. As I say idk what the hell it is, or if its a bad sign, but any help on the matter would be extremely helpful. And also, silly as it sounds, blowing on said area or fanning it through the air cools it off temporarily.
So there it is, my own personal review of a device I am liking, aside from quite a big main issue which is occurring, which I need help on. Sorry if this review isn't very technical, but I won't be doing it very often, if at all, so you only need to put up with me once. Thanks to the people who helped me pick, and thanks for reading!
