Server Data Extract Best Practices
Post Body

I have a variety of extracted data sources that my team curates on Tableau server. Currently, all of of our reports point to those extracts (live connection to the extract).

Would it be better to create an extract inside of each workbook that is filtered and aggregated for performance? We could still build it off of the original data source, but then set it up as an extract (so a workbook extract from a server extract). I assume I would need to set the workbook refresh schedule so that it refreshes after the server refresh completes.

Any thoughts on the best practice for this?
