About to start tDCS, The Brain Stimulator a good choice (+any other input?)
Post Body

Hi all, I've been checking out tDCS for several years off and on since it's an obviously promising treatment for depression (and just a pretty interesting area of neuroscience). I think I'm ready to give it a shot myself and would appreciate any input anyone, especially those who have tried it for treating depression, has to share. Initially I was just going to make a unit since I'm fairly handy with basic electronics but after coming across The Brain stimulator for $90 it seemed like a good way to go, but I'd like confirmation and to know what I should do for sponges (should i get what they have and the adapters? should i just get alligator clips and sponges elsewhere?). I know I could just find guides via google but I trust the community here than other places---i've seen other sites/blogs that seemed popular/reputable enough but recommended foc.us device, so if i'm going to be hooking up electrodes to my head i'd prefer to get info from somewhere i trust.
Basically, like i said above, i've followed tDCS a bit over the years but thats more study results and cases, not the actual mechanics of how to get setup, so if anyone has any general tips regarding using the brain stimulator/tDCS for depression (assuming I dont make my own unit) I welcome any comments. Thanks.
