Hello everyone I'm a Junior Linux System Administrator that has two years of experience working for a start up web hosting company that lost funding in January. Everyone lost their jobs and I've been having a hard time getting the time of day from employers and need some help. Below I posted information about my skills and experience as well as what I'm looking for and what I'm learning.
LOCATION: Charlotte, NC (Can't relocate) | Open to Remote roles
SALARY: $50K yr is what I was making and is what I'm seeking
SKILLS:
DISTROS: CentOS, RHEL, Ubuntu
TOOLS: VMWare, Ansible, SaltStack, ShoreWall, Docker (familiar with), VIM, Github
WEB SERVERS: Apache and Nginx
SCRIPTING: Bash, Ruby
I'm able to perform basic system administration such as installing, configuring, hardening, monitoring, and scaling servers. I can modify permissions, manage users and groups, and perform most system admin tasks.
I am currently a few weeks away from taking the RHCSA exam but hesitant to spend the money as it seems most job posts don't even ask for the certification and only want 4 years experience and a degree unfortunately.
I'm available immediately and very eager to get into a position where I can learn and grow as a system admin and work towards becoming a systems engineer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
