Recommendations for asset tracking?

As the title states. I am looking for a good asset tracking system to keep track of the workstations and laptops that are assigned to users. We have almost 500 employees. Looking for either a cloud system or self hosted system. Don’t mind purchasing something but don’t want to break the bank. Let me know what you guys use or like.
