Good Afternoon all,
I currently work in a school and we are moving away from most of our old HP Switches, but several (about 62) still remain and will do for the next 2 years - I have just finished rolling out the server-side config for our new WiFi networks that is a rip-off of eduroam, with the intention that at some point it will evolve into eduroam, and as such needs several new VLANs.
These VLANs I can set up fine on our UniFi switches because I have a controller - and I can access each of the HP switches individually but after just spending more than 5 minutes setting up one of the core switches I'd rather not do that on all of the other HP switches. As far as both of my colleagues are aware we do not have a controller for the HP switches.
My question: Is there either some management portal on most HP Procurve switches that somehow my colleagues are missing, or is there some free software to manage the switches? The Technicians that have been here for a while say that the support company used to just do something to copy it all over - but they neglected to ask how before we stopped paying the support company.
I have seen HP's IMC but this is paid for software and the way it is going (and since the HP switches are being phased out) there is no way my boss will go for buying the software.
Thanks!
TLDR version: Need to add new VLAN config to HP Procurve switch what is best way without paying for HP's IMC.
PS: We still aren't sure what the network topology currently looks like either thanks to some lost plans... So if the software would help with that - bonus
