Printer Naming

Hi r/sysadmin,
I have a client who is very particular about their printer naming. They've asked to see if we can rename the printers from 'PRINTER on SERVER', to just 'PRINTER'.
Printers are deployed via Group Policy
Does anyone know if there is a way to do this?
