I am a sales person working for a company whose primary focus is cold calling every single person on this sub.
I'm the guy who calls you saying "Hey, Anon, this is u/Musicman_1976 and I was wondering if you had a second to talk about mobility (or printers, hardware, etc.)", you all know that guy, right?
I see post after post about IT people wanting to research it themselves, not be sold, and then you'll reach out.
You've asked and now you shall receive!

Its a cloud based management suite that aggregates the (most of the time multiple) carriers into 1 single pane of glass. With our service desk on the back end, mostly eliminates needing to interact with the carrier at all. It has more and better reports, faster access to information, real-time information (on usage), and simplifies workflows.
Sticking to facts not pitching.
I personally leave voice mails all the time and try to keep them 45 seconds or less (for the whole call). Its nice to know that you actually listen to them.
How do you want to be approached and asked to do that?
If you're one of my clients today how do I ask you "Hey u/dargon_ can you go on reddit and post about how awesome I am?" without coming off exactly how that sounds.
We have rave reviews from our clients, heck Gartner rates us as the highest client retention rate in our quadrant. How do you an IT person get asked the right way to go tell your colleagues at other companies?
except when its comes to what I do, that is the case. You want to try things out first? We do a 60 day no obligation free trial. No one else does. All I'm saying is I'm not going to call, look at the link, check out the website, maybe its something you need maybe not.
This sub requests that sales people not call, that they don't understand the issues, that sales people are dumb and don't get it. Sure there are bad eggs and you probably view me as one too.
Instead I see time after time "I wish they'd just let me research it myself." Sure go ahead but who is going to research a problem if they don't even know there is a problem to begin with?
I talk to people who think it is normal to spend 30-40 hours a month handling cell phone related requests within their company because there is no better way. The point of this was simply to say I hear you, you don't want me to call fine. He's a fact sheet if it fits you let me know if not no big.
No you're right it was probably an engineer or something, but then he hired salespeople to spread the word of his innovation because no one else knew it was possible.
So I can't call you, email you, snail mail you, and we all know no one clicks those ads...
All i want is to have a conversation with someone in IT who is not guarded, or has stereotypes about all sales people before I even utter a word.
Is there no decency in that?

More of a front end for the systems the carriers use to do what you request overt the phone or using there portal. The management suite either ties directly to the carrier back end (name change, cost coding, report generating, etc.) or to our service desk (Procurement, troubleshooting, international, etc.).
Our suite makes all the carriers have the same workflow, same interface, 1 place to log into to get everything done. Moves faster than the carrier and we hold ourselves to Service level agreements for every action.
I mean there is a huge amount of features in it but the bottom line is that increased visibility = lower cost and lower time spent dealing with it for IT.
