Help me figure out a salary range so I don’t get ghosted by recruiters again.

Help me decide a salary range and not get ghosted by employers

So I have an interview tomorrow for a sys admin role and the salary range is 80k-100k pretty wide range if you ask me.

I’m coming from a tier 3 helpdesk role with 6 years of experience in tech support and 7 years in customer support.

Recently before this interview I had two interviews with companies where I asked for the max salary 65k to be exact. One said they would follow up and was like is that how much you sure you need? I said yes. Next Monday sent me a rejection letter.

Other recruiter in the interview when I said the salary I wanted told me well the salary would be based on your assessment and previous skills. Positive I nailed the assessment she ghosted me.

Now I’m going into this interview and I would like 85k-90k but I don’t want to be ghosted because someone will accept less. Should I just put my range as 80k-85k and then work my way up to a higher salary? I mean it’s still 20k more than my last job so.. because the ghosting is insane right now for simply wanting to be paid what your worth :/

UPDATE: interview went well and im moving to the next round. There are four more rounds after this. πŸ™ƒπŸ™ƒπŸ™ƒπŸ™ƒπŸ™ƒ. A technical one, a culture one, a culture one, and a customer skills one. Jesus. She said the salary is within their means and she said they will interview fast I hope so. Because this is a lot.
