So I am starting a new job tomorrow as a network engineer. I have about 14 years experience in IT. Worked most recently as a Network Engineer (Really was more of a sysadmin job) and an IT Manager / Linux Administrator before that.
I don’t currently have any IT certs mainly because I didn’t want to pay for the tests but the new job will pay for any certifications.
As a network engineer what would you guys suggest I get certified in first? A list of the more valuable ones to move up in the field would be super helpful. This new job is much more clearly defined as 90% working on Networking. Switch stacks are mostly Fortinet, some sonicwall firewalls (I have a lot of experience with several brands) but mostly fortinet overall. I believe there is some Cisco stuff as well. This will be for a MSP.
Thanks everyone!
Edit: I forgot about one cert I have - Laserfiche Gold certified (pretty worthless unless in a niche situation)
