Storage Pool, data allocation

Normally I've used Intel VROC raid 1 to mirror disks, at home for personal use if I have 4 drives and use the storage pool settings built into windows and select two way mirror, will it still show one big drive? I'm curious if a drive fails does it tell you which one has failed or are you hunting down in logs at serial numbers and working out which one has failed.
