Tips / one cool trick for creating songs?

I'm getting lots of experience jamming, but I still struggle with a mental block when constructing a whole song (multiple patterns on the electribe, lead lines, bassline, vocals). Is there a process any of you follow for writing songs?
Some kind of cheat sheet to get some rough form around a song. I'd really like to play live and need to start practising some of my own songs before I do that.
