Moog 37 arrives - but defective (sigh) - what to do?
Post Body

After the long wait, I was taking pictures, looking forward to sharing, etc.... then noticed the defect. Two buttons (VCA envelope loop and latch on) don't press correctly; it looks like they're seated wrongly (maybe board underneath is seated crookedly) so they don't click, look a little wonky, stick on and off, need a hard press that might get completely nonresponsive over time. Sigh.

Well, it happens. It's being returned, that's fine, no harm no foul. But I'm wondering now - the sound is nice, I like it, but manual isn't finished, maybe firmware updates coming, etc. Also, compared to (say) my Slim Phatty, those buttons do feel a bit cheaper, though it feels good overall and I wouldn't have noticed were it not for the breakage. Am I too close to the bleeding edge this week?

So : go for a replacement right away? Or put the money towards either a modular starter or Prophet 12 (those were the things on my wishlist last Feb when I jumped on the Moog order). Hmmm what would /r/synthesizers do....?

Edit: A great resolution!
