Eloquencer sequencer 1.3.9 beta firmware midi to cv in. Does anybody know possible causes why it won’t work?

Hello,
Ive been looking everywhere for hours hoping I can get this to work. I’ve successfully installed the latest beta firmware which specifically mentions you can now use cv to input gates and pitch.
Literally tried everything I could think of with no luck using live rec mode « cv in gate1 cv2 »
Is there any advice?
