Hey,

So yeah as the post says I'm brande new here. I am setting up a Plex server and a friend recommended the DS920 . However when I went to look it appears to have been completely discontinued (looking in Ireland).

Is anybody able to confirm? I seen the alternative is the DS923 but it doesn't seem anywhere near as good?

I thought it was just safer to have the transcoding to cover various phones and stuff where possible (better to have it and not use it than not have it and need it), and that's what has been leading me to the QNAP TS-464 if I couldn't find a DS920 in my area.

But I will definitely look into the DS423 , so thanks for pointing that out as another alternative

All the 20s seem to be gone, unfortunately!

So I'm stuck with a newer x23 model if I go synology

Aye, I just saw a little about that on their subreddit.

Now they say with the auto-patch feature it should be more reliable but even still I'll do a bit more research and see.

They must hate Ireland 😂

When I wasn't logged in, I could see the price, but once I logged in, it changed to out of stock (not even the usual not available to ship).

But I did look at irish suppliers a few weeks ago and they did have them too so I'm wondering is it a recent thing that the stock is pretty much gone
