Do you prefer the Republic or Empire in general for the expansion stories?

I know the stories vary some through Makeb and I think SoR (but it's been a while) though obviously not as much as the original class stories. Usually I play imp side, but the furthest I've gotten is about the first few chapters of KotFE before I get burned out or get a case of alt-oholism.
I've played a few pub characters over the years and it never seemed to draw me in quite as much, considering I've never even gotten through Ilum on that side. So just seeing what everyone prefers post class story.
