Confused about SAO Light novel 9: Alicization Beginning

I have watched all of the anime and read the first 8 novels. I just started reading Alicization and am confused. I read the LN faq. Does the novel reveal how Kirito got to the place he is in now? The novel just started with Kirito in a random new place with a kid called Eugeo. I know Eugeo will be explained but i want to know if it will tell you how Kirito got there. Also, how long till everything is explained? Thanks
