Why isn't swing trading more mainstream?
Post Body

Out of all the trading modalities, I would say swing trading is more consistent....

I only have small gains, but they are consistent.

Started with 50k last year, and the plan is to only swing trade blue chips on a dip and aim for 5% per trade minimum.

My goal is to execute 12 trades a year minimum at 5%.

50,000 x 1.0512 = 89,792

Which is what I got in 1 year for the first time swing trading.

60% for the whole year. Much, much better than index funds performance.

Starting at 89,792 for year 2, I should be around 161,254 at the end of year 2 at the same rates.

By the end of year 5 with the same rates, it will be around $933,959 before taxes.

It isn't making me rich, but these small gains have been consistent. I could be more aggressive with exit points, but I don't want greed to ruin any plans.

Swing trading is perfect for my lifestyle. I don't have much time to day trade, but I also don't want to be forever holding the bag for long-term holds.
