I posted this recently on the resort subreddit r/CalienteResort, but figured this community could benefit from it as well.
As a first timer to Caliente Resort in Land OâLakes,FL and I was searching for solid info to set expectations, but I couldnât find a post that covered everything I wanted to know. So, to help the community, Iâm sharing our experience, answering the questions I had before we went and maybe a few youâve been wondering about too.
After postponing our original trip due to Hurricane Helene, we finally made it to Caliente Resort - and it was well worth the wait. Originally, we booked for Saturday and Sunday, but we rescheduled for the following Thursday and Friday. During our stay, we enjoyed both Ladiesâ Night and a themed party on Friday, which unfortunately moved indoors due to rain.
We arrived at the resort around 2 PM, and check-in was seamless. After a quick pass through security, the front desk staff welcomed us warmly and gave us a detailed overview of the resortâs amenities, activities, and schedules. A whiteboard by the front desk outlined the daily events, making it easy to plan what you wanted to partake in. With key cards in hand, we headed to our room, just a 1-2 minute walk from the clubhouse.
The hotel room was fairly basic but checked all the boxes for what we needed. It had a king-sized bed, a small table with two chairs, a TV, and a compact fridge and microwave. The bathroom was comparable to a mid-range hotel like a Hampton Inn. One great feature was the screened-in patio, which was perfect for relaxing without worrying about mosquitoes. Having our own drinks and snacks in the room was also a plus, especially since you can bring alcohol and food to your room, though not into the clubhouse or pool areas. The mirror above the bed deserves a special mentionâit added a playful touch to our stay, inspiring some memorable moments and photos before we made our way to the pool.
Poolside Tips and Experiences:
At the main pool, the atmosphere felt immediately comfortable. Itâs âclothing-optional,â but most people fully embrace the nudist lifestyle. Thereâs no awkwardness, and after shedding our clothes, we quickly felt at home. People of all shapes and sizes were enjoying the pool area, mostly keeping to themselves during the day. There were a few single guys wandering around, but they were respectful, and we never felt uncomfortable. The tiki bar staff were friendly, serving up solid drinks. We had our margaritas poured directly into our tumblers which was a perfect addition for a sunny pool day.
One pro tip: bring your own tumblers (with lids), but make sure theyâre empty when you enter the clubhouse. The bartenders are happy to fill them directly or provide drinks in plastic cups that you can pour into your tumbler, helping to avoid spills while youâre splashing around the pool with drinks in hand.
The resortâs age demographic tends to skew older. At 40, we felt like we were on the younger side. Most guests seemed to be in the 45-60 range, though there were a few younger couples mixed in. Everyone we met was friendly and welcoming, and the relaxed, inclusive vibe made it easy to enjoy ourselves.
We recommend bringing your own beach towels because losing a resort towel carries a $100 fee. You can also bring a cooler to your room, which is convenient for keeping drinks on hand for the patio or neighborhood walks. Keep in mind that once drinks you purchase at the pool/clubhouse leave the clubhouse, they canât be brought back in.
Evening Fun and the Playroom
We made a reservation to eat at the fine dining restaurant where we enjoyed live jazz playing right outside the resturant and on that Thursday, they had some exotic meats on a specialty menu which was a nice touch! After dinner, we relaxed for a few roaming the clubhouse and decided to look at the club. It was somewhat lively, but not really that exciting compared to some of the other things going on at the resort so we didnât spend much time in the club other than having a drink and then making our way back outside. That promoted us to visit the playrooms. The playroom entrance area serves as a general conversation space where you can stay clothed, mingle, and enjoy your drinks. This area also houses a receptionist, lockers, fresh towels, and sheets. After stripping down, the receptionist marks your locker number on your hand in blacklight ink, and from there, you can explore the various rooms with all your items safely locked away and secured by a guard.
The playroom offers several options: private rooms with doors, semi-private spaces with curtains, and larger group rooms. When we first arrived, the space was relatively quiet, but by the time we left, the group rooms were starting to fill. While we didnât bring toys, youâre allowed to, though certain restrictions apply. The only downside was the music, which skipped frequently, disrupting the vibe, but it felt like a one-off issue.
The Hot Tub and Conversation Pool
The conversation pool and hot tub are the social hubs at night. When we arrived, a few couples were already enjoying the space, each playing privately while sharing the same sensual atmosphere. The vibe was light and respectful. Aside from one guest making a rude comment to a passer by, everyone we met was friendly, and the energy remained positive.
Friday night was busier, with more guests filling the conversation pool and the playroom becoming more lively. After a more casual dinner at the sports bar, where we met a friendly couple who shared tips about Caliente and other resorts in the area, we then headed back to the playroom (just the two of). We chose a semi-private space near the hall where passersby could watch - and many did. It was one of the most exhilarating public encounters weâve had, with over two dozen people stopping by to enjoy the show. After a quick shower to clean up, we returned to the pool deck, where the energy was electric, with couples indulging in intimate moments, including a hotwife and her cuckold, a threesome, and more. However, to be clear, there was no point where we felt uncomfortable, and instead used that time to enjoy a nice private moment of our own mixed in a wildly erotic environment. We were approached by one gentleman who was very respectful and polite, and asking to join us. I politely declined and he went about his business.
Exploring the Neighborhood and Additional Perks
The next morning, we took a liberating walk around the neighborhood, wearing nothing but shoes. The resort is expansive, with beautiful homes, townhomes, and a charming casita village with colorful, small manufactured homes. The casitas seemed like a fun option for future stays, though the hotelâs proximity to the clubhouse made it ideal for this visit. As a first timer, I highly recommend you stay at the hotel for your first visit for this very reason.
There are also convenient amenities, like ice machines outside the hotel stairways, which kept our cooler stocked and provided ice for a playful nightcap - PRO TIP: get some ice to tease your partner!
Final Thoughts
Weâre in S. Florida, so when we were deciding between Secrets, Paradise Lakes, and Caliente, we ultimately chose Calienteâand weâre grateful we did. The resort sets a high bar with its unique blend of relaxation and excitement. Likely the ânicestâ in the US, but I canât say that with absolute confidence. While the daytime atmosphere is focused on nudism, the nighttime offers opportunities for playful and sensual experiences.
This was just our experience on a Thursday and Friday night, and to be clear, we have absolutely no affiliation with the resort. But if youâre looking for a place that balances a relaxed environment with sex-charged evening energy, Caliente is worth considering. We look forward to returning sooner than later and making more unforgettable memories!

Well, being on the 2nd floor kinda kills that too, but the bright side is that it makes for a nice sitting area for having some mimosas in the AM, or decompressing after a night of fun. Either way, it serves its purpose.
