I’m a total rank novice in labor, but I’ve grown an interest the past several months after losing my last real job and am interested in starting a handyman/small space renovation business. I have a home that could use every ounce of sweat I put in it; I’ve gotten handy with a drill and hand tool set, but want to get a bunch of experience renovating my place. Over the next few months I’ll get some experience in everything from drywall and insulation to cabinetry and trim from fixing up my house, and buying all the tools along they way.
After doing a handful of small area renovations (5x8 bathrooms, sub 100sqft kitchens), and assuming an efficient system and a wife that handles admin work, how many hours or days would these take? If everything went smoothly, would 40-80 labor hours be reasonable?
