Input issue with German layout

So I just got sway running properly and beautifully for my needs, but I still have one major issue: My keyboard layout doesn't work as it should.

This is what the config looks like:

input "type:keyboard" {
    xkb_layout de
    xkb_variant "nodeadkeys"
}

But I can't use any key that uses the German "Alt Gr" key. Which..also causes the issue of me not being able to use pipes on Linux, or even type simple things like { . I always have to copy them from somewhere to use them.

Can anyone tell me what's wrong about my config?
