Ok so I'm new to the SW5e system, long time player of DND 5e though so I know enough to play without to much issue.

However, in an attempt to play a character who crafts/forges lightweapons I had to look through the rules and tbh... it's a lot and it's very confusing and the websites layout is... less than appealing thus making it hard to get all the info I need.

One of my main questions is this, can I craft a focus generator and apply it to a lightsaber? Or is there a way for me to turn my lightsaber into a focus so I can essentially make it into a Staff of Power type item that boosts my Spell Save DC, Spell Attack Bonus, and my Attack/Damage for the Saber.

It'll be expensive, take a long time, but thats my end goal for the item. I'm playing a Sentinel, Path of the Force Blade, and I really wanna have him craft the perfect Saber for himself. I also intend to have the character go on an adventure to find some Songsteel to use in saber construction to give it the light feature. I believe thats possible?

Anyways, aside from that if anyone could give me a simplified/condensed explanation of the crafting rules and how they work I'd appreciate it a lot.
