I've got this character. He's an imperial inquisitor(darkside force user gaurdian). I wanted to give him a bit of a twist on the classic villain archetype that you usually see in star wars. I could easily do the mustache twirling coward. Or the angry angsty teen. But these have both been done to death and just aren't very clever for RP. What I have designed is a character who is extremely passionate. Peace is a lie after all. He wants to help people, he wants them to do better, to be better. All these people are like children. If they would just obey the empire their lives would be so much better. Why must you make me punish you. Why do you keep acting like Florida man you crazy rebels. That sort of thing. A villain is not evil for no reason. His reason for being evil is that he loves you all. He wants whats best for you all. What is best is that you obey. That you comply. That you submit to his will and by extension the will of the empire.
Now this is all fine. A wonderfully twisted idea for a villain. The sort of double think that would make George Orwell laugh. Where I'm having a problem is, what does this villain sound like? What is is voice? I know his motivation, it's that feeling when you're playing a multiplayer game and all your teammates are idiots and if they would just work with you then you would win, taken to 11 and applied to society as a whole.
What's a villain in tv or film that is like this? Is he quiet? Is he loud? Does he smile a lot, or does he frown his words out? Does he often pause mid sentence? Does he do captain kirk's dramatic pauses? Is his voice deep, or high pitched? I have the big brush strokes of this character. Now I just need to find some small details that can really make him sound real along with perhaps some examples of other villains who have the same thought process.
