tldr - which accreditation is the best for a sustainability specialist in the UK?
A little more background...
I have recently started a new job with an organisation who provide advice, guidance and training materials to colleges and universities in the UK. My role is that of a sustainability specialist, helping education establishments engage in more sustainable practices, especially within the realm of digital learning and technology.
Prior to this I worked for several years for a local council, building my way up to the position of Principal Climate Change Officer. I was the lead in mapping their baseline GHG emissions and establishing and implementing their net zero strategies.
Other than my masters and undergraduate degrees, I have no formal accreditations, but I am quite eager to change this. My current employer is an advocate for further training and career development and are willing to pay for any further training, providing I can justify the benefits of doing so. I want to not only bolster my knowledge in the field, but also instil faith in those seeking my advice and also potentially further my career in the future.
With this is mind, I would be eager to hear your thoughts on which accreditation you feel would be the most beneficial for my current position, and why.
