HvV P1: So I finally watched the regarded "Best Season of Survivor" and after watching at least the Pre Merge and it was great! It was just great seeing the level of strategy involved and all the characters interacting with one another. Love the Tom Idol play (admitted Tom fan here), although it came at the cost of Cirie, and all the moves in the Villians tribe. Russell was just great tv, in a good and in a bad way, and he was just wrecking the tribe! Just kinda wish Boston Rob won out the war but this outcome wasn't that bad either. Also, JT. What happened dude? What happened to the measured, affable, likable, dude from Tocantins? Oh man, while it was entertaining seeing play a COMPLETELY different playstyle, it just felt so useless, since it really didn't have as much of good returns for his game, unlike in Tocantins.
It did feel kind slow towards the end of the pre-merge though, and I kinda checked out just before the merge not because the season was bad, but I was just kinda burned out? Not that I hated Survivor, but I just needed a refresh or a boost to get me back.
And then, after two months I just decided to skip ahead and watch a season with newbies to get my love again.
San Juan del Sur: Wow, what a great season. Brought back my love of the game and the show. Just a perfect mix of strategists, game players, and memorable characters. Natalie might be one of my favorite winners yet, just so cunning and was willing to side with the same people who voted her No.1 so she could cut them at the right time. THE ALEC VOTE OUT, what a move! How in the hell did they buy that? Those guys must have as much game sense as that rock over there. Which reminds me of...
Keith, LOVE HIM. Maybe not the best strategist but what a man. I saw a post that he's the modern Big Tom and I definitely agree. Not the best player but an a great number to have.
And Reed too! Love him! He is so talented with strategy and did have a path to victory if not for Keith lol Fun fun season, where a lot of them played so hard, they played production too.
HvV P2: Then I decided to go back to HvV just recently and finally realized why this is considered one the best seasons. Just to see everyone pull off these moves and end with a very satisfying winner. Parvati being a challenge beast was a pleasant surprise. Russell went with blaze of glory, burning every single juror on the way, and being one of the most powerful goats in the history of Survivor. Kinda bummed out with the pagonging of the Heroes but all in all a pretty good season that I definitely need to rewatch.
Next: Maybe dark ages? Scared to dip in but maybe I'll go with South Pacific then Philippines? What's the best dark ages Survivor to watch?
