More so than Katurah, it was Jake who totally botched F5 by telling Austin he had the idol. Jake could have just kept it between him and Katurah, told Katurah to conspire with everyone else to vote out Jake (which they wouldâve done anyway if he didnât have the idol), while Jake uses the idol on himself and he/Katurah vote to get out Dee.
By telling Austin about his idol, Jake overcomplicated the whole situation and blew his chance to make his âbig strategic moveâ that he knew he needed to make. While itâs true that Katurah blew it with the actual plan they made, it would have been a much cleaner strategic play to blindside Dee without telling any of the Reba alliance about the idol.
Also, while I think Dee is overall a deserving winner, I felt like her performance in the jury questioning was awful. She wasnât able to articulate anything specific that she did strategically and kept falling back on heart / social game, and even said she got lucky for being on Reba. It honestly made her win feel weird because Austin answered so much better than she did.
At the end of the day, I wish Emily or Kellie won, but here we are. And I liked Jake as a person but man was it painful to watch him blow his perfect opportunity to blindside Dee and add some clout to his game.
