Finbox repair question
Post Body

I've got a board with futures fin boxes that I bought used. Somehow the previous owner managed to strip the screw hole for the center fin box. I lost two center fins before I realized, and eventually just set the board up as a twin.

Well, now that I've made some progress in my ability I'm realizing that I want the center fin back, and that twins aren't ALWAYS appropriate. I've got some basic carpentry skills, so I tried using some wood shavings in the screw hole to allow the screw to bite. I tried to pull the fin out with my manly brute strength and was unable, but about 5 minutes after getting in the water, lost fin.

My next idea was going to be using something like suncure to fill the hole, re-drill after it set, and call it good. I'm a bit worried that the suncure may be too brittle though, and won't hold. Does anyone have a better suggestion before I go experimenting again? Not trying to lose more fins here.
