The fact that it wasn't even the same rangers but their ancestors we were following REALLY bothered me! Why do that?! Why not have the characters we have been following in the show instead of their ancestors?! Why go through the whole Hayate vs Ikazuchi rivalry again?!

I wanted to see a new adventure with the Hurricangers and Gouraigers I came to love from the show. See how they were 20 years on. What are their new lives like? What new challenge are they gonna face?

Also only giving the ancestral version the new HurricaneRed power up was also a sour point for me. I know Reds tend to be the most important but like come on....you couldn't give them all new power ups? And if you are only gonna give it to the Red can it at least be MY HurricaneRed and not the ancestor!

Was it fun to see the old actors again? Sure but I really couldn't get over the ancestor thing. The villian was also just....serviceable. Overall I'm hella disappointed by this anniversary special. After the trailers I thought I would enjoy it more than the 10th anniversary one since it had an actual story instead of just fan service but color me shocked 🤷‍♂️
