I am done with book 2 and it is getting annoying. Nick is super- smart. He can outsmart all his teacher (even chad who has spent every second training gets beaten by seniors and teachers). Even telepaths are not capable of getting better of him. He is an elite strategist. He can sing and dance. He doesn't need luck to to win cards. All the girls in Vegas open their legs for him. He got Alice and his father enamored simply by showing his prowess at fine dining. I am sure missing no. of things but seriously what kind of bullshit character is this. This vegas training of his that keeps getting hinted is seriously OP, they might as well open school of their own at this point if their training is so good. I mean sure he has learned caring and friendship but only thing more annoying than Nick is Mary's character completely getting shafted after middle of book 1. I am seriously tempted to drop this series despite enjoying other characters because I have feeling he will pull out even more talents out his ass in next book.
