[Semi-spoilers?] About Lex Luthor in premier episode

So I was re-watching the first episode today and got reminded that Lex got sentenced to prison for 32 consecutive life sentences, what do you think Lex actually did to receive such a huge and long punishment for someone like Lex?
I know Lex wont be a important character in this show for the foreseeable future but he is an important character in this Earth and speculating is always fun, so what is your theory on what Lex did?
