3 Year Hiatus Over and I Want to Play Nautilus - Questions & Advice

Post Body

Hello,

I used to play League quite frequently about 3 years ago then stopped, and I have decided to pick it up again as it's a good way for me to connect with faraway friends.

I have been playing Naut support starting Relic Shield and 3 pots, maxing W, the whole shendig I've learned so far from guides and videos. However, I am getting worried because many of my friends prefer Nami or Braum. Is Nautilus still okay enough to try and climb ladder? I don't really have Diamond aspirations but I enjoy competitive game modes like Ranked and want to be useful to my friends and team.

Another question is in regards with his build. I have noticed many guides recommend very supporty items but I have been rolling with Sunfire and Dead Man's as first items (when winning lane) and it's been going pretty well. I am not sure how good Omen is anymore, especially with the newer items I have been seeing. Also- coin or relic shield? I haven't worried about gold income a lot and I prefer the health for relic.

Any input on Naut's effectiveness right now and good advice for someone unfamiliar with the meta and newer champions?

(For the Mods, I didn't know how simple/complex this was because it's a bit multi-faceted, especially considering Naut is not very played frequently)
