Hi /r/summonerschool! I've been playing some Fiora on PBE. She's really fun and snowbally and much easier for me than Riven, who I can't play because of my shitty ping and fps. Top lane is by far my worst role and I'm hoping that Fiora can fill a sorely needed dps spot for me, along with the only other top laner I can play, Maokai.

Anyways, I have seen very differing opinions on what to max first on Fiora. According to champion.gg, the highest winrate skill max order is W>Q>E. However, I've seen the majority of Fiora mains say that Q max is better than W. Can someone explain why? I would have thought that the bonuses from W would be far greater than the ones you get from maxing Q. If it's situational, when would you max Q over W? When you're fed and able to roam?

My second question is how to be useful as Fiora during the lategame. Is my job to wait for my team to do their shit and then go in and clean up, like most assassins? Or should I avoid teamfights and make picks? Basically, how can I do damage and not die as Fiora in the lategame, especially when we're even and/or behind?
