AP botlane worth it in low ELO?

I mainly play mid, but obviously I need a fallback role. Currently it's toplane (as I used to main Jax), but I know that AP carries in the bot lane are occasionally playable (Ziggs and Swain in particular, who I both play mid). However, in low Iron ELO, is it worth the risk if my team doesn't play enough AD champions?
