Legal Question??

Post Body

For the lawyers in the groupā€¦ I donā€™t know anything about employment law, but could what Kyle is doing/saying before and after Carlā€™s exit from Loverboy have any legal consequences? Between last nightā€™s episode and his recent interviewsā€¦ it feels like heā€™s crossing some lines. I know itā€™s not illegal for a former employer to give an employee a bad reference if they believe it to be true, but 1. This is not a formal reference and 2. If you believed him to be ā€œunhireableā€, then why did you hire him? If the answer is just cause heā€™s your friend, thatā€™s on you Kyle.

I donā€™t know, this whole thing is messy. Iā€™m sure Kyle has some valid points, but watching him go about this feels extremely wrong.

Thoughts?

Also Carl is technically a public figure, so itā€™s much harder to sue for libel/slander as a public figure vs. private figure
