I just finished reading Gideon the Ninth (which was amazing by the way) and it occurred to me that all of my favorite books have similar themes. I love a well rounded, fully fleshed out world with some sort of faction warfare. Gideon has the nine houses, Red Rising has the hierarchy of colors, Divergent has the five factions, etc. I think this element naturally leads to good worldbuilding, which I find essential.
Aside from that, I prefer books with little to no "spice" or only minor romance plot points. Bonus points for any sort of queer representation!
Can you recommend any books with similar worlds?
