I'm kind of in an emotional/intellectual rut and I'd love to connect with a piece of fiction that really captures my attention (I suffer from ADHD so, it's difficult to gain momentum or finish books). I also need this book to be emotionally resonant. My usual books are serialized science fiction, fantasy, or military history non-fiction. I usually do Audiobooks to circumvent the attention issues, but I'd love to find a book where I want to turn to the next page.
I'm currently attempting to (and failing to) read A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson. I just finished the 2nd Gotrek & Felix Omnibus (actiony cotton candy). And the last audiobook I enjoyed that was outside of my usual genres was How to Change Your Mind by Michael Pollan.
I don't know, I guess I'd like to find a literary experience that makes me feel like I did at the end of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Annihilation, or a Taylor Sheridan film; like I've been through the wringer, but I'm better for it.
